Dayna Manning
Popular voice, Popular Self Accompanied and Singer-Songwriter
JUNO award-nominated, award-winning folk artist Dayna Manning has been bringing Canadian stories to life through song for over 25 years. A masterful storyteller, she weaves local history, landscapes, and personalities into her music—from tributes to The Band’s Richard Manuel and Father Goose Bill Lishman to her beloved ode to the snow day, O Snow.
Dayna has released four solo albums and three albums as a founding member of the acclaimed folk trio Trent Severn, and her work has earned her recognition, including the 2023 Forest City London Music Award for Ontario Independent Recording Artist of the Year and a nomination for Producer of the Year at the 2021 Canadian Folk Music Awards. The video for her song “You You You" won the 2021 FCLMA Video of the Year.
A community arts leader, mentor, singer/songwriter, producer, engineer, and author, Dayna holds a Master’s degree in Community Music from Wilfrid Laurier University. Her first book, Many Moons: A Songwriter’s Memoir, includes a foreword by Astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield and was listed as one of the best books of the season by Canadian Living Magazine.
Her upcoming 8th studio album, Field Notes, was launched at the Stratford Festival's Tom Patterson Theatre this Summer and will be released with a new single each month, continuing her tradition of celebrating Canadian stories, people, and landscapes, culminating in the full album release.
